Dedication to Harry Fraske 1933-2022

Harry Fraske my grandfather lived to the age of 89. The story behind this man is absolutely incredible, what he went through and persevered to provide such a beautiful, and bountiful life for his family. All those stories can be told through our Fraske Family History book. The story I want to tell now is of the special relationship I had with my Grandpa.

The reason I chose Sebby’s Studio for the name of my Art Therapy practice, is because Sebby is the special nickname my Grandparents gave me when I was a young girl. The name stuck, and if you know me well, you most likely call me Sebby or Seb.

When I hear Sebby, I think of a safe and magical space, where you can be your 100% true self and face no judgment. You can be silly and quirky and laugh and cry and always be greeted with a hug. In this space, you know that someone has your back, and will always be there to catch you when you fall, to guide and support you and help you reach your goals. This is exactly the space my Grandparents gave me my entire life.

Whether I was failing or succeeding, they were right by my side. They were a constant beam of light, shining bright in my life and still to this day. Their kindness and wisdom is what guided me on the right path to becoming an art therapist and I am so grateful to have that. Thus Sebby’s Studio was created, so that I could be that support for other people, just like they were for me.

What I promise to give my clients is honesty, reliability, kindness and compassion, a judgement free zone, a fun and free space to create and let out their emotions. I strive to be that constant rock, and guidance in my clients lives, as much or as little as they need. My inspiration and work ethic, all of my therapist traits, are inspired by the relationship my grandparents gave me.

Unfortunately on October 27th, 2022, my grandpa passed away. His memory and legacy lives on through the Fraske name, and the love and utmost respect of his family and friends. Harry, Grandpa, thank you for everything. I know you know how much you mean to me and how grateful I am for every single moment we shared together. I love you with all of my heart forever and always. Sebby ❤
